Viticulture

There is nothing more beautiful than a vineyard.  In the winter it is stark and untamed, the dormant vines lined up, naked and forlorn.  In the spring they burst into life, little flecks of green start to adorn their woody branches.  When summer comes the leaves are bright green and the bunches of grapes are swelling and changing colour, making promises of the nectar they contain.  Then in autumn the vineyard comes alive with action, pickers strip the vines of their bounty and machines carry the precious cargo to the winery ready for the next stage of the process.  This is an introduction to the wonder of viticulture.
